The SP and RJ State Traffic Departments (DETRAN) have intensified educational actions in traffic, on the streets, in schools and also in social networks. The official profiles of the agencies, administered by the FSB, have done very good surveillance actions on the networks, which cover all risk behaviors, from using cell phones while driving to failure to wear a seat belt. The reaction of celebrities and digital influencers multiplies the reach of the digital reproach. The success of the action was described by newspaper Folha de São Paulo, crowning the complete and continuous cycle of cross-media communication.
The report highlighted the statement made by Maxwell Vieira, the director-president of the agency in São Paulo, which reflects the ambitious goal of the action: “We want to make people aware and reduce accidents and deaths.”
TV presenter Patricia Abravanel, daughter of Silvio Santos, praises the scolding she received: “I liked the reproach. In order for the seat belt not to get caught in the neck, I usually put it under the shoulder. I did not know I could not do that. It was great, because from now on, I will do it the right way,” Patricia praises in the report.
DETRAN SP alerts have already yielded 432 positive reports since June 2016. In addition to Folha, the strategy was talked about in important outlets such as Estadão, Veja SP, Agora SP, UOL, Terra, Record, Bandeirantes, SBT etc. Only on DETRAN SP social networks, posts about celebrities have reached more than one million users.
